　　 On the afternoon of September 24th, Beijing time, Chelsea announced on its official website that the team had signed the Ligue 1 team Rennes goalkeeper Edward Mendy.

　　 Chelsea officials revealed that the team and Mendy signed a five-year contract. He will compete with Kepa and Caballero for playing time. Mendy is 28 years old and 1.92 meters tall. He played 33 games for Rennes last season and conceded 31 goals, of which 13 had zero seals.
